Welcome to 
District 181 of The Machinists Union.

District 181 is located in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. The Districts geographical service area is all of Manitoba. District 181 currently has 4 Locals and 12 collective agreements under its jurisdiction. These agreements are under both provincial and federal jurisdiction. Each Local within District 181 represents a number of various occupations. Some of these are Machinists, Mechanics, Millwrights, Electricians, Sheet metal workers, Various Production and Process workers as well as Public Service workers, Welders and Aerospace workers.

It is a fact that a unionized workplace is safer, better paid, more democratic and just than a non union workplace. In fact Statistics Canada figures show Unionized members benefit with higher wages and better access to pensions and other benefits



Legal Services Plan For Manitoba Machinists

Cherniack Smith, long time representatives for the IAM in Manitoba, have announced a Legal Services Plan for our members and their families. These services are quite extensive and will be provided by Mr. Roman Stachurski and. Mr Stachurski provides expertise in Real Estate, Wills & Estates, Corporate, Commercial and Domestic Law plus Civil Litigation such as Personal Injury, and Slip and Fall.
